Associate Consultant

Location: Los Angeles, California

Position Summary: This is a challenging, rewarding and a high visibility position at The Group. You work closely with clients to develop a deep understanding of their top priorities. Associate Consultants use a mix of their technical background, creativity and common sense with their business and leadership skills to help clients achieve pre-established goals. You will conduct interviews with key market players and industry specialists, organize and write proposals, and participate in business development and marketing campaigns for supporting the broader problem solving effort.
You will be given responsibility to manage a significant portion of the project, work face-to-face with senior-level clients, prepare work plans, and direct client personnel to facilitate the implementation of strategic recommendations. The success of your work will be measured by its impact on the bottom line. You're encouraged to coach junior team analysts and staff members, and have opportunities to participate in training programs as well as networking with your senior colleagues.
Associate Consultants report to a Principal, they work closely with an assigned Project Manager, and become a fully integrated project team member in roles that vary in accordance with the project's objectives and the Associate Consultant demonstrated level of performance.

Qualifications:A bachelor's or advanced degree in a technical or scientific discipline from any Ivy League or equivalent school and at least 2 to 6 years pre-post degree experience in commercial supply chain operations, demand and supply planning, inventory analysis, sales and operations planning, and/or Information Technology specialists. Industrial, consumer goods, retail, entertainment or similar industry background as a professional or in a business management position is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an outward display of confidence.
  • Must be computer literate and have superior information gathering, data management and strong analytical and problem solving skills for a complex and often ambiguous, systems-oriented environment.
  • Must be able to complete routine arithmetic calculation, understand and prepare financial statements, complete fairly complex analytical comparisons, prepare and solve algebraic calculations, and understand statistical reports.
  • Must be highly self-motivated, thrive on challenge, manage time effectively, and be driven to perform at the peak of their ability. You must be able to move safely through, and also be able to operate effectively in a varied, unstructured and unpredictable business environment, while contributing to dramatic client performance improvement.
  • The Group is looking for high-performing individuals with a desire to be in a leadership position and a demonstrated bias for action, with a proven track record of creative and imaginative leadership accomplishments, possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and in written form.
  • Willingness to live in or around Los Angeles and to travel Monday through Thursday.
